Look at interest and readiness
There is no single age that suits every child. Some children enjoy drawing and painting early; others become interested later. Consider whether your child likes creative activities, can take part in a guided project and is comfortable spending time in a class.
These are practical questions, not a test. A child does not need formal art experience or a finished portfolio to begin a beginner class.
