Painting skills for young artists
Painting projects help students learn how to use colour and work with a brush. Depending on the project, students may practise:
- Mixing colours and noticing how they change
- Brush control and applying paint
- Texture and contrast
- Acrylic painting techniques
- Planning a picture and placing its main shapes
These skills also support drawing. Students can use what they learn about colour, shape and composition in many kinds of artwork.
